The Art of life lies in a constant re-adjustment to our surroundings. Kakuro Okakura (1862-1913)
We have very exciting news here at Paradise Yoga Center!!! The students and teachers of Paradise Yoga Center are becoming part of Ohana Health, located at 757 Fir Street here in Paradise. We have had three amazing years here at our current home, we have grown a beautiful Yoga family or Ohana. This wonderful community will continue to grow together through the years on the Yoga path. The decision to close Paradise Yoga Center was not an easy one, but a decision that I, Zack had to make personally as I look to the future and retirement. I have appreciated the support and love of every student and it has been a great honor to be part of this journey with all of you and I thank you. I am not retiring from teaching, I am just retiring from owning and operating a Yoga Center. Anne and Duane at Ohana Health have wanted to a Yoga program at the Healing Center for some time--so this collaboration in perfect!! Ohana Health offers a serene healing enviornment with a spacious and airy Yoga room, a peaceful waiting area, 3 massage rooms, and community Acupuncture and much more. Paradise Yoga Centers last class will be August 30th. The move to Ohana Health will occur over the Labor Day Weekend and our first class in our new home will be on September 2 at 715am.
WELCOMING OPEN HOUSE RECEPTION FOR PARADISE YOGA STUDENTS, FRIENDS AND INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE ON SEPTEMBER 6, 3-5PM. PLEASE COME AND JOIN IN THE CELEBRATION OF THIS MOST AUSPICIOUS UNION.

JAMES TAYLOR REGARDING ROBIN WILLIAMS:
"I felt two things immediately when I got the news last night:
first that the light had dimmed and, on its heels, a sense that this was inevitable; that Robin had lived for a long time with a darkness at the periphery of his vision.
What must it have been like to be present when he improvised the genie in "Aladdin" or Lovelace in "Happy Feet?" His Texan, his gay stylist, his Soviet comedian, Mrs. Doubtfire…He was a one-man menagerie.
Perhaps, just as we were swept away, so was he.
I remember the small, uncontrollable chuckle that often accompanied his flights of fancy; as if he were as amazed as we were by what was happening to him.
Who can pretend to understand a gift like Robin Williams's? Meteoric, volcanic, fast and furious…Perhaps there is a price for such brilliance.
I'm so sad he's gone and so grateful he left us so much." ~ James Taylor
Our spiritual and psychological journey must reveal itself in our every day practical life, if it does not we may actually be compartmentalizing our spirituality. If one lives in the urban environment of today, we roll up our yoga mat and then have to drive through a chaotic city. Or we step onto a teaming metro. We get home and clean the cat box. We suffer disappointing blows in the business world. We find out something close to us is very ill. True self-transformation or spirituality has everything to do with our daily obstacles and external difficulties. This is why the work you do with mental focus; tactical relaxation techniques, etc. must be of equal priority to postures and movement. Then when we find ourselves in an immovable traffic jam, we know how to make ourselves calm and centered instead of a vessel of rage. ~ Max Strom

We can let the circumstances of our lives harden us so that we become increasingly resentful and afraid, or we can let them soften us, and make us kinder. We always have the choice.
